You are star dust. Never forget that. You are made of atoms and particles and feelings and emotions and blood and bones and magic. You are beautiful. You are crazy amazing. I don’t know if anyone ever told you that. But you are. And I hope you see this amazing person that I see every time I look at you. I hope you see the magic that I see in you when you look at yourself in the mirror.
Every time you feel like drinking acid, I pray to the stars that you see this amazing person hidden inside your skin, your sad eyes, and your smart mouth. Every time you feel like cutting yourself, I want you take a marker pen and draw a butterfly where you wanted to hurt yourself. Name it after a loved one or someone who really wants you to get better. If you cut before the butterfly is gone, it dies. If you don’t cut, it lives. Other people can draw butterflies on you too. They are extra special. Take good care of them.
You are loved.
Say it again.
“I AM LOVED” ❤
If I want one thing to happen through my writing, it would be to make someone feel better. If I know you are hurting inside, I would want to make it better. To somehow ease the pain. But I usually don’t know how to. So I write. I write for you. I write for myself because there isn’t anything else I can do. I want you to know that you are loved.
You are loved by you. There is magic within you. Don’t ever forget that. You may have forgotten, because things got tough. Because someone is hurting you. Because life is hard. But you are alive now. There is blood coursing through your veins. There is meaning within you. There is no other soul in the entire universe, who looks like you, who talks like you, who giggles like you.
You are special.
You are magic.
Whenever you feel like cutting again, take a pen and join the cuts. Make patterns of constellations. Make star signs on your arm, your wrists, your thighs, your stomach, wherever you feel like you need to release your life line, make art. Make art on your skin to remind you that you are a work of art. This is you. Alive and present.
